Charlotte Chatton is an industry veteran who has devoted over 3 decades to professional storytelling. Starting out as an actor, she won a grant and scholarship to attend The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London. Upon graduation, she landed the coveted leading role in Working Title Films’ critically acclaimed feature “Dakota Road,” which opened the London Film Festival. This break along with appearances in award-winning British series such as “Inspector Morse” and “The Chief,” led to representation with ICM and a move to Hollywood where directors such as James Cameron, Danny Boyle & James Keach cast her opposite Martin Short, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Kathy Bates, Clifton Collins Jr., Joan Fontaine, Leo McKern and Katherine Heigl to list a few.

Charlotte’s passion for TV and Film led to seeking out work in development. She worked as a Production Coordinator and Development Executive at Creative Light Entertainment (Comic Book:The Movie directed by and starring Mark Hamill) and then for independent film producer, Damon Martin (Northfork, Freakonomics) at Departure Entertainment for a year before enrolling in an intensive two-year screenwriting program at Writers Boot Camp, where she became an Instructor on the Los Angeles campus. Six years of working with emerging writing talent on a daily basis honed Charlotte’s ability to quickly identify strengths and weaknesses and prescribe workable solutions for the projects she oversaw and this encouraged her to provide her own personal brand of writing support by way of The Next Level Script. Her extensive professional acting career combined with years spent working in development gives Charlotte the ability to deliver exceptionally strategic notes, “from the inside out.” Plus, avails her with producer insights on budgets, above and below-the-line considerations and what it’s going to take to get a project out of the gates. All of which contributes to the guidance of creating an industry-viable work.

Charlotte has seen clients go on to work for major networks, streamers and win first and semi-final placements in major screenwriting competitions. Her writers have found representation at WME, CAA, UTA and others and have been the recipients of many industry awards and nominations.

Charlotte is a member of the British Academy of Film and Television and launched her producing career as Executive Producer of California Typewriter, featuring interviews with Tom Hanks, Sam Shepard and John Mayer. California Typewriter premiered at the Telluride Film Festival 2016. The film was nominated for 3 Critics’ Choice Awards and has a 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating. Charlotte also Co-Produced and Co-Wrote the festival-winning and NYT critically-acclaimed documentary, Women of the White Buffalo and has scripts currently optioned and or attached to award-wining collaborators.

Charlotte’s cross pollination of industry experience makes her uniquely able to identify what the best actors and their gatekeepers look for in a project and her mission is to continue serving as a necessary conduit between writers, producers and performers.
